Why I GO
I believe all children deserve a quality education and all kids want a chance to learn. As the mom of two black girls who will soon attend OUSD, working for quality schools in Oakland is a personal passion.

Leadership Council

In 1999, Amy moved to the Bay Area from her hometown of LA for a job and fell in love. She stayed to pursue a MA in Education and MBA at Stanford. She has been proud to call Oakland home for nearly ten years and made the move from SF because she cares about diversity and working in the community where she raises her kids.

Amy is grateful to bring to GO her experience leading and growing a national nonprofit, Summer Search, that started in the Bay Area and supports low-income high school kids to get to and through college. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Summer Search.

The members of our Leadership Council are Oakland natives, residents, parents, grandparents, former teachers, principals, and alumni of Oakland public schools. Our leaders have deep connections to Oakland and strong backgrounds in education. The Leadership Council supports and guides our work in the best interest of Oakland students.
