Exploring Partnership

This year, we are focused on continuing to deepen our work in Oakland and West Contra Costa, and building out our newly-launched programs in Fresno.

We’re interested in understanding future opportunities to launch programs serving other high-need communities in California.

If you think your city could be a good place for GO to explore partnership, connect with our CEO, Jonathan, and Senior Managing Director, Jessica, to share your story.

Understanding & Selecting New GO Sites

Below are some of our primary considerations and criteria in evaluating the potential for effective partnership at a new GO site:

1. Student needs.

What are student outcomes like in your community, from cradle-to-career? How is your community’s public education system serving low-income children, students of color, foster youth, and homeless youth?

2. Demand from and opportunity to partner with local leaders and communities.

Is there demonstrated interest and collective will among the many stakeholders in your community to come together and transform educational outcomes?

3. Identification of local GO staff leadership.

Are there local candidates or groups who are likely and willing to champion this work by cultivating and leading an initial team of GO staff?

4. Demonstrated interest or investment from funders.

Will there be adequate resources to support the launch, growth, and operation of a GO coalition in your community?
