Danielle Bergstrom is the Policy Director with the Central Valley Community Foundation where she works with leaders and funders at the local, state, and federal level to highlight opportunities for strategic investments in the Central Valley. Prior to working at the foundation, Danielle was the Special Policy Advisor to the Mayor in Fresno, working on strategic investments that support high-speed rail, transit, and neighborhood revitalization; and, an associate at PolicyLink, a national research and advocacy organization based in Oakland (CA) focused on social equity. She has also worked as a researcher on neighborhood revitalization and as a city planner.
Danielle has a Masters Degree in Regional Planning from Cornell University and a BS in Biology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
The members of our Leadership Council are Oakland natives, residents, parents, grandparents, former teachers, principals, and alumni of Oakland public schools. Our leaders have deep connections to Oakland and strong backgrounds in education. The Leadership Council supports and guides our work in the best interest of Oakland students.
