Meet GO Fresno’s new Executive Director
Welcome to the new school year! We hope that you found time to recharge and reconnect with loved ones over the summer.
I have an exciting update to share today. Earlier this year we started our search for GO Fresno’s next Executive Director, and I am thrilled to share that I have selected Central Valley native, Joanna Kendrick, to lead GO Fresno’s incredible team.

Meet Joanna Kendrick, GO Fresno’s Executive Director
I am inspired by Joanna’s passion for public education and her deep expertise in the field. Joanna has over 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher and school leader — and she has spent the majority of her career as an educator in the Central Valley. As a Central Valley native myself, it matters deeply to me that our leader here sees the brilliance and the promise of this region, and I can say with confidence that Joanna shares this belief and is committed to doing the best for, and with, our students and families.
As Joanna settles into her new role, she will be spending time listening and learning from GO Fresno’s staff, Family Leaders, and valued community leaders like yourself. She is excited to build on GO Fresno’s current policy efforts in the areas of Dual Enrollment and improving outcomes for English Learners, and is ready to lead the team through the next evolution of these campaigns. She will also be working closely with me to explore new opportunities for impact and ways to expand our work in Fresno and throughout the broader Central Valley.
You’ll hear from Joanna next week so keep an eye on your inbox. In the meantime, if you haven’t already, check out some of GO Fresno’s highlights from last school year and learn more about the team’s plans for the year ahead. If you’d like to send Joanna a note of congratulations or schedule a meeting, she can be reached at jkendrick@gopublicschools.org.
